  1. Hi All

I think my Delta needs a battery replacement as it still has the original from 2012.

Does anyone know if I can disconnect the old battery and replace without having a diagnostics tool to reprogram?

In other words, is it DIY job for this type of vehicle?

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi

My Delta (1.6 Diesel Auto) is starting to act like a capricious Italian maiden

Last year the parking sensors intermittently indicated "no parking assist available"...This problem seems to have resolved itself for about 10 months until recently.

If I put the car in reverse the warning indicator on the dash comes on and stays on. I have become accustomed to the "beep, beep" and it is particularly useful when I am reversing out of the shopping centre car park and some old dear comes "flying" past behind me in an electric wheelchair...really, its happened on more than one occasion!

I have cleaned the sensors from the outside and checked the wiring in the boot.

Has anyone experienced this problem and are the sensors activated by the gearbox?

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

  3. Funny you should mention wipers. When I first bought my Delta I was determined to keep it all service parts-wise OE. I forked out £30+ for a set of Bosch blades. I was never that impressed with their performance TBH so a couple of years down the line I've just bought these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chrysler-Delta-Hatch-ACP-Exact-Specific-Fit-Front-Rear-Wiper-Blades/292181828568?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649     Yes OK they might not be the longest lasting but for less than £11 for all three wipers including postage - they fit pefectly - I changed all in about a minute and so far they are perfectly silent like when the car was new with a great sweep and vision. For that price it wouldn't bother me if they only lasted 18 months....

I also have Bosch wipers and am not too impressed either. These are about 10 months old and they do not wipe well directly in my line of vision. MOT is now due so I have ordered a set as mentioned.

I am looking to replace the cabin filter and they did not do it on my last service. Found found this on amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mecafilter-ELR7119-Filter-interior-air/dp/B00DJ5W8Q2/ref=sr_1_8?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1520509401&vehicle=20-272-10298-55232-1-0&sr=1-8 ...any comments?

  4. Hi

I have had the misfortune of braking a rear suspension coil on my 2012 Delta.

To date I have had no luck in sourcing new parts. The chassis on the Delta is a Fiat C2 chassis which is shared by the fiat Bravo...does anyone know if I could use Fiat Bravo coils as replacement?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

  5. Ok job done!...but its one of those that "if it ain't broke don't try to fix"...however this has given me some satisfaction as the light which illuminates the boot was not working. Was not the bulb...the wiring was never connected at the factory!...all sorted.

I have attached some pics about the dirty lens "before and after". You will need the correct size allen key to loosen the black plastic nuts unless you open your beer bottles with your eyelids.

    Give it a try

  6. Yep, my previous employer was none other than Jody Scheckter himself....big league!

I am a simple chef but he and his mates did take a look at my little panda when the going got tough in muddy conditions. These boys move about with top spec German models...I will never be as fast as him but bring on the sludge!

  7. After looking at the options available within my price range in the used car market I recently purchased a beautiful low mileage 2012 Delta 1.6 SE.

I have seen the Lancia Delta in Italy and really liked the look of the vehicle...anyway after a few 1000 miles of happy motoring the oil light starts flashing during my morning commute. Obviously panic and some unkind words mentioned about the used car dealer I had bought the car from.

To my relief it was only to indicate that an engine oil change was due.

I promptly booked the car in for an oil change at a garage near my home. The mechanic assured me he could take care of it...anyway to cut a long story short he was unable to reset the light and gave me a discount on the service.

I then booked the car in with Arnold Clark Wigan (Jeep, Fiat, Abarth and ex-Chrysler)...thought they would be able to reset the light (quoted almost £60 for the job!)

After an hour of waiting patiently the service manager informs me that they were unable to reset as the Chrysler had pulled out of the UK 2 year ago (I knew that Einstein) and the Delta did not even appear on their system...nice one!

I live in the NW...can anyone with a Delta tell me where I can go to resolve this problem?

    Any advice wouldb e appreciated.
