Josboogz got a reaction from Cassino in Brake Pads/discs Recommendations
    Hi All,

Just wondered if you guys had any brake disc/pad recommendation for the Delta.

My last set were Bosch Pads/discs sets (I was under the impression it’s always best to buy same brand discs and pads for compatibility) and haven’t been too pleased. They have squeaked from day 1 and my Indy said copper grease was no longer needed on the new pads or discs these days with spacers and padding provided but I disagree.

My Delta is a work horse carrying 3 children and heavy car seats so is heavy on brake use.

Carparts4less have Pagid, Eicher Or brembo. I’m tempted with Pagid as they were good on my golf back in the day.

    Any recommendations and advice welcome

    Cheers

Just to confirm got my Delta services and MOT by my local indie. Sailed through MOT:)

Sump plug and washer from mito from Alfa workshop was fine.

Spark plugs were also right, car feels a lot better a lower revs.

Glad I got it done, thanks for the advice chaps

Nice pics well done on the rebadging.

When I bought my delta the last service was from these guys

    http://www.njsalfaromeo.co.uk/

They mentioned they had done a rebadge for another delta around 700 for full rebadge including software load up screen and steering wheel etc

    Hi,

I noticed the oil filler app was super tight on both my deltas and gave up as knew I would break it. Returned the next day I noticed if the engine is warm it’s easier to open, so worth trying that than forcing the cap.

    Hope this helps,

    Tjb, nice buy!

please post some pics when you get the Lancia conversion completed.

I have the same colour Delta Inc trim in a petrol SR. It's a pearlescent bronze that never comes out on the photos. My neighbours love it.

There was a Lancia specialist down near Evesham that I think can source the Lancia headrests, I can dig out the contact details if you're interested?

Mikey is right. I have 2 deltas and this year rears went on one and fronts on the other. I had to get sets from the dealer at an extortionate cost.

It is useful for all Delta owners to know if bravo coils fit as the can be had for a 5th of the price.

What is odd is the parts that came from dealer didn't match the eper system so something fishy going on.

I have an original of front and rear so if they go again I will order bravo set and compare.

Mechanic advised against lowering springs and I prefer originals. Also with stiffer springs may put more stress on mounts and wishbone which my alfa always had issues with. But at present it's definitely the cheaper option.

Thanks guys. I will take a look tonight and see if I can pinpoint where in the engine bay its coming from. Its definitely louder from the passenger side window.

Yes I noticed the whooshing from the westgate being a little louder these days and its quite nice.

I am due to get the cambelt and waterpump changed soon so I will my mech to do check if I cannot determine the cause before then. No notice in power loss but I will report back with my findings should it help others.

    Hi All,

Just in case its of use to people. THe original coil springs are hard to find, but are still available from the main Chrysler Dealer as it has to come from Italy. The cost is 124.63 + VAT per side!!!! Generally 1 hours labour to change each side too. As mentioned best to replace them as a pair.

    The part number is 50709043.

The other option is as L Plates recommended and the Eibach pro springs but this requires a change across all 4 and lowers the car so depends if thats what you want. you just have the additional 1 hour labour for both rear springs.

My mechanic recommended against lowering if possible, but he says a lot of coil failures happening so one to look out for as the original part is expensive!!!
