Stumped with stereo problem

Question

Hi one and all, newbie here with a headache of a problem. Recently bought a 2012 Chrysler Delta SR 1.6 which drives well for a 1.6 diesel, anyhow my problem is after buying it I couldn't work out why the stereo wouldn't come on so waited until I got home. I've checked all the fuses behind the glove box and found 1 blown 5 amp fuse so changed it and I've discovered that the usb and cigarette lighter down below work, I've even had information on what folders and tunes are on the usb stick on my information screen on the dash so I know that works and as far as I can work out all the steering controls work as that's how I was able to see what was on the usb, even the windows/blue and me button beeps when pressed. It's just that I cannot get the actual stereo unit itself to come on as if it's getting no power at all and since found out the front interior lights don't work either but the rear ones do. I'm assuming the blue and me is working with the button on the wheel and usb working. It's giving me a right headache every time I look into it. I've looked everywhere I can think of on the net so any help that's sent my way would be appreciated so much. Cheers

Hi mate, yeah I removed the glovebox to check the fuses and found a 5amp one had blown but found no change after replacing it. Really confused over this due to me being able to read on my dashboard info screen what's on the usb stick and with the cigarette lighter working as well so I'm assuming the blue & me is working. I'm going to have to pull the stereo out to see if the connections are in properly and the stereos own fuse hasn't blown. All the lighting around the stereo is fine. I'm now thinking there is the chance of the stereo being dead that's why it doesn't work but I've never heard of anything like that before happening with any stereo in any car plus most of the problems that are being experienced on here are to do with the blue & me system

If the stereo itself is not working when you switch it on, then it is most likely that the unit fuse (fitted in the back of the unit) has blown, replace it and test it.

As regards reading files, Blue and Me is a separate system, as is the lighting and so forth

Hi sorry took so long to respond, that's the exact last thing I need to check. Don't want to sound dumb but it'll be a micro fuse in the stereo as well won't it. Just haven't had 5 minutes spare to have a gander yet but definitely will. Hoping that is the problem as it'll save me some pennies on buying a new stereo, have had a look at quite a few different ones but really don't know where to start and only a couple of days ago I've discovered that my rear brake on the top has come apart on the poppers and what I can see is the popper itself has just rounded off through wear and tear plus now my indicator is on its way out because it's flashing like it's possessed. Never rains but always pours down. Cheers for that my fine feathered friend

The problem is now sorted out finally, I'm one happy Delta driver who can now stop humming to himself as he goes about his day. I did have a bit of a fight with the boa constrictor of wiring getting the stereo out & then back in but it's done now and the culprit was as rightly said by Andrewgrale (cheers mate) a little 10amp fuseIMG-20220317-WA0000.thumb.jpeg.a7136adbd1b19c51f0800bdfcfc41da3.jpeg
