Make sure the door lock recall has been done (if required) or you might find yourself locked out / in.

Alloy wheels corrode badly, battery have a high failure rate, few turbos but overall not too bad. Cheap because no one really knows the car.

I would go to a dealer and get them to operate fan(s) and EGR using diag equipment, at least that rules out the fans/circuit of they work, they can hire the older equipment. If they say they cant or give some excuse then go elsewhere because they clearly cant be bothered.

To keep things a bit more simple, the Grand Voyager and Voyager sections have been merged together.

For the older generation Voyagers, they now have their own subforums inside the main Voyager one (with the current model being the root).

Should make things much easier for people now, and much simpler to find your specific model

Added a new feature to the site - pretty simple - you'll now see a "View Unreplied Topics" link next to the View New Content link in the top right.

Unsuprisingly, this will take you to a list of all the topics (within the last 30 days) which as of yet are unanswered So if you have some free time, why not help some people out with an answer?

Not sure about the starter motor, but it did seem that a low battery voltage was the problem. Found the problem or problems I think, think original battery was on way out, but I also found a faulty door catch on the rear door, which was causing the interior lights to come on overnight and drain the battery. Door catch snapped yesterday so got it welded and today its starts fine. Well so far so good anyway.

Cheers for the advice guys much appreciated.

Also found a good link for error codes without a diagnostic kit

Front suspension 'noises' are common often the lower arm which even a non-genuine part will set you back £100.
Non-start issues are commonly battery, battery leads or starter connections/wiring.
Alternators are also common even with the modded 'plastic cover'.

However, all cars have issues and you say it's a lot of car for a small amount of money

Same engine as the Bravo and I have done these and from memory you have to drain/refill the coolant as the EGR comes off with the heat exchanger complete. I seem to remember something about a metal and rubber gasket (that was quite expensive) when I stripped the assembly down so make sure you have everything if you are doing the job.
It sits at side/back of engine as it is part of assembly and I also recall the battery has to be removed for easy removal and refitting, throttle body is above it. Don't suppose the car is still under warranty of any kind? Is the EGR at fault as there was issues with the EGR heet exchanger leaking?

I assume you are referring to your husband changing the battery ?

There is an ongoing issue with Sebrings,Avengers,Jeeps across the range with this problem. From what I can see it is simply
down to poor protection of the door lock from natural water ingress inside the door(s). The deadlocks stay on and you cannot
open the door from the inside or outside. As a result there was a recall issued for this and your car may be one of those affected
so I would recommend a phone call or trip to nearest dealership.

I suspect a supply wiring fault to the TCM or a faulty TCM which is not unknown.

First thing I would do is look behind the left front wheel arch plastic guard where the TCM is located, you might find it easier to remove the wheel first and look carefully at the TCM (silver box about 10" square bolted) for signs of damage or water corrosion.
