Clunking Noise & Lights Warning

Question

Hi all, I have a 2012 Ypsilon, 29000 miles, bought new, now 3 and a half years old. I've started to get a clunking noise coming from the front, only happens when I turn the wheel both stationary and driving, any ideas please?

Also yesterday the light warning light came on telling me that there was a fault with the front light, I checked running lights, dipped headlights and full beam and all were fine, any thoughts on this too please would be appreciated.

Ok - issue 1 - clunking

Ask anyone in the Northamptonshire area and this could be answered by the masses....

It sounds like the spring surrounding the shock absorber has snapped.

Blame inferior steel - I have had two fail.

Be aware that if it is this, the spring collapses down on itself, and could start to rub the inside of your tyre.

Diagnosis - put the wheel into maximum lock..

if the noise is coming from hrs - turn max left and look up from inside of wheel arch from drivers door area.

Spring will appear in two bits.

Secondly - the lights, suspect that there is either a dry joint or crimp along the line...
