Well good evening folks. I have just joined the forum. I have also just bought a 2007 Grand Voyager Executive. I have a Rover 75 which I love, mainly because it has never let me down. But it is getting a bit tired, also my wife and I are not getting any younger, and the Rover is quite low. That makes it not so easy to get in and out of.

Right first question, I have just put a brand new battery in the rover. Now assuming it fits, then I would like to change it for the one in the Voyager. Can I just disconnect the voyager battery or will I need to keep power on the car. I am not so tuned in with all these cars with their computers, so don't want to find I have to drag it to a garage for reprogramming etc.

 All the best Madmax

Hi there and welcome!

It's usually better to post in the vehicle assistance sections as not all our members check all the areas!

However, in my own opinion, due to the large amount of stuff I'm hearing about in the last few years, on all manner of cars, I would personally be sorting out a way to keep 12volts on while the batteries are swapped, to avoid "spiking" any electronics. I've not had a problem yet on my Grand Voyager or my 2005 Subaru outback, but it seems it's becoming far more common and likely!
