Question

Hiya how's everybody doing hope your keeping well and your pride and joys.

We're in a bit of a pickle at the moment with my dad's 300c diesel his pride and joy.

Over the past year my old man's been having a starting issues with his motor as the months have gone by it's getting worse and worse till a few days ago it will turn but not start at all

Before all this it would take a lot of effort to get it going cold starting wise but once it did when the engine was warm it much easier too fire again after at least a day without use it would be a pig to start again.

Parts replaced battery

Crankshaft sensor

Fuel filter

Non return valve

Glow plug module

I would really like too get this car running again for my dad he loves this car and he doesn't want too give up on her I can't blame him it's a damn good machine next too my ford escort estate the 300c is like a battle ship next too it lol.

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot too note also did Clean and wire brushed all the contacts on the battery and connections just to be sure that it's creating a proper contact just to make sure it's nothing simple.

Sorry to hear about the missus mate. You defo can't be selling her 300 now.

Mine is a 2008 black SRT Design with 20 inch alloys and blacked out windows. Thinking of buying some 22s for it.

It also has all the bells and whistles, black leather interior etc. I had to replace the MyGig when I bought a new battery for the car. It didn't like being disconnected from its life source for 30 seconds. When I turned on the ignition I had a load of warning lights on the dash and the MyGig went kapput. Cost me 40 quid to reset all the lights and 600 quid for a new Sony stereo! A new MyGig was £2,400 from Chrysler. Damn that battery.

I've had beemers, Jags, Daimlers... all better build quality, but none look as good or turn heads like the 300. I even drove a bride to her wedding in it last September. Trust me though, she was more of a head turner than the 300.

Very nice too and kept well. Just had a reply from GSF offering this one as the unit that fits? Was yours a thread or a push on? Hope you can see the picture. Thanks again for the replies.

That's not right... it's a push on. Exactly like the pics I attached yesterday.

No worries, I'll go onto the bay and order same as your picture. Once again thanks for your efforts and hopefully the heavier duty drop links will sort the knock for you. As I said, I upped the anti-roll bar to a 33mm and used poly bushes but that has no effect on the knock, just handles way tighter and combined with the rear mods, tyres and suspension, its way less tail happy under heavy acceleration and damp conditions. Be lucky and catch you out on the open road one day ! Steel Blue Pearl with mesh grill.

New Moog drop links were ordered last night, awaiting delivery. I put Moog polyurethane bushes on the anti roll bar last summer.

Hope you get your beast sorted. Everything can be fixed, it just takes time and money.

Stay safe mate.

Let me know how it goes. As I said, without access to the old fashioned ramp with shaker plates I would never have tracked the issue down. The faulty one was on the passenger side and when under pressure, on a standard hoist, everything was tight so the pry bar was useless as all bushes appeared good with no movement. These new lifts may save space but they don't meet all of the needs and so stuff slips through the net. I had stripped the entire front suspension out and replaced everything that looked iffy and as I told you had drilled, taped and die'd, fitted grease nipples replaced rubber for poly and still that knock persisted. Now had three years or so with no knocks of any kind. I have to offer a word of caution regarding fitting 22 inch rims, you may introduce further knock problems! Not confident that the off the shelf parts fitted to the car are up to the extra weight involved ! Be lucky..
