Lost Keyfob For Grand Voyager 2010

Question

Hi

We have a 2010 Grand Voyager. We love it! But Only one set of keys supplied with vehicle when we bought it 2 years ago.

Lost keyfob this weekend. Fortunately car is on drive but locked .

Chrysler dealer in Stevensge want £241 to provide new key and remove the lock barrel ( they say they cant provide petrol cap key) from petrol cap. But they want us to deliver car to Stevenage and AA wont recover as its not a beeakdown.

So I have a few questions?

A) Does car need to physically be with dealer to reprogramme new keyfob?

B) how do we replace petrol cap key? (i'd prefer not to have to have barrel driled and removed)

C) i would prefer to get 2 keyfobs so we have a spare. But at £241 its a bit steep? Does it really cost that much for a plastic keyfob and programming?

Any ideas or experiences greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Sorry to here of your problems, silly suggestion time, can you get it to a Timpsons ? (they can do the  blippers too)

Secondly sorry but, yes, the bloody things are that expensive, I died when I got a quote for my Jag (the wallet ran away and I haven't seen it since)
