mikep Posted February 24, 2020 Report Share Posted February 24, 2020 I have just bought a 2.2crd pt cruiser 2004 and i have a problem with the dasboard lights coming on and off, somebody told me it was the ignition switch so i bought a new one and fitted it ? but I still have the problem with the lights coming on and off, it drives fine and all of the general electrics work fine, but it seems like intermittent power to the dash. can any body shed some light on the problem. If the dash board earth which is the return for all the dashboard warning lights is intermittant it could mean that the lights are being used for the earth return some other system and therefore being illuminated. Check the earth wire for the dash lights Check the back of the dash for a broken track/crack on the reverse of the dash. Just an idea?? make sure the plug onto the dash is secure and the pins are not burnt or damaged, earth wire is normally black but not too sure on this car could be brown or white need to check your manual or google it.
