Front Abs Reluctor / Tone Rings On Awd?

Hi,

Got the error code C1042 Left front tone wheel performance and U1409 implausible left front wheel speed signal received, I have replace the speed sensor but the error code is coming back almost right away.  

Is the tone ring a part of the wheel hub or is it on the driveshaft? Or is it possible to jut replace the tone ring?

Hi, you can buy the tone rings separately to go on the front wheel bearings, but if I was you I would replace the whole bearing as normally the ring and bearing will be rusted together so buy the whole unit

Hi, what I have found is that the front tone ring on a AWD is on the drive shaft.

you can still buy the tone rings separately for the AWD models, they take a little longer to fit but can be done even with the driveshaft still on the car,
