Oii wots wrong with White Non-Italian!  :P

Haha I was just checking that you were still reading all the posts lol!

If its a LTD then its a 2.0

Good point Spud! I hadn't seen the thread title, so missed that bit...

Here's the car in question... It's a grade 3 car, so a good few dents, scratches and chips, plus new fog light and two wheel centre caps required. There's no mechanical report, so difficult to know if there's any other issues other than from the MOT history.

MOT'd until Sept 2020, where it states on the advisories that new front tyres are required soon, as are new front discs and pads, plus worryingly some play in the steering rack!

Oooohh headlight washers - does that mean it has the fancy turning light thingys?

How technical :-D

They're actually called gizmos!!!

I think if cars have xenon lights and poly-eliptical light lenses, they're required by European law to have a means to wash the lights, so it might not mean that this car has the 'see around corner lights'???

(Look at the technical terminology I use!!!) :-D

I am new in this forum and I have just read this thread. I bought this car from a dealer in Sheffield at the beginning of November. I guess they bought it at BCA at this point.. I did not know it!

Before collecting it, the car dealer installed new front discs and pads and they bought the two wheel centre caps that were missing (they did not substitute front tyres though..)

[..] plus worryingly some play in the steering rack!

I have been driving the car for about 2000 miles and I have not noticed any problems so far, it drives very well actually and it is so comfortable. I am wondering if "some play in the steering rack" (that I did not notice) could lead in the future to some well known problems? Which ones? Thank you.

Welcome Deltafan, and congrats on a great spec car too!

Just check yourself for any play in the steering. Whilst stationery and with the engine idling and wheels straight, see how far each way you can turn the wheel before the wheels move. I'm also pretty sure you'd have noticed by now to be fair...

If you're worried get a mechanic to give it a quick check over. Where abouts are you? We might be able to suggest a good specialist!

Honestly I have not noticed any strange behavior in the steering, it works very well in both standard and "City" modes. Maybe they fixed the issue without telling me..;-)

Cambridgeshire and Norfolk (I am on the border). If anyone suggests a good specialist in these areas, it could be useful in the future.. :-)

Yes, it has turning lights and a button to disable turning.

Regarding headlight washers, I have still to see them working. Manual does not mention anything about them.. I will try to activate windscreen washers with headlights on to see if headlight washers work..

You want page 382 - if dipped beams are on, pulling stalk towards steering wheel will activate screen and headlamp washers
