Changing Fuel Filter Housing - A Question About Pipe Fitting

Question

Good morning everyone,

I am changing the fuel filter housing due to the stalling of the engine but before I go ahead with it I have the most basic of questions.

Attached is a pic of the pipe attachment to the housing and it is not obvious how to take it off. There is a plastic collet/sleeve the pipe seems to fit onto and I am reluctant to do anything forceful to remove the pipe just in case I break the plastic bit and cannot source a replacement.

Anybody have wise words to remove the pipe in an engineering way rather than brute force. After they are disconnected it looks very straightforward.

Thanks for any help.

David
