Question

Hey guys,

the head light on my voyager are pretty low. I have tried cleaning with toothpaste and  it did clean it but still low.

thinking to upgrade it to brighter lights.I have already replace the inside ones and its pretty bright now inside.

Any recommendations for headlight ? has anyone changed this and has seen a better result?

I have an aftermarket xenon ones, on both low and high beam, they work just fine for £20 each, for a piece of mind I have a spare in case they don't last.

6000K is more than enough.

As per the cleaning, I suggested it before:

Wet and dry sand paper 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000 and a 2000 just to make sure. Each one for about 20-30 mins and at the end a good quality glass polish product.

It worked in my case.

For the inside is the same process but after getting instructions from YouTube how to put your headlight in the oven to take it a part. Careful not to touch the silver paint as it is a very fine layer and it comes of very easy.

Hope it helps.

Yep aftermarket HID kit on mine too, but 4500k for the daylight light level - ruddy awesome.

I did my outer perspex with the 3M drill kit, fantastic results in no time.

A while ago I posted the bulb types on here, but later cars have H7 dipped beam, but I can't find it - must do it again!

alright ..got the lights

changed it and it fits perfectly.

switched on yay... all white light to its full glory.

and that was my short lived happiness.

i took it for a spin to check road side condition.it was raining thats when i noticed problem no. 1

light was on, i started the wipers and after few mins increased the wiper speed but no change .switched off the wiper but now viper won't stop,,wont even change the speed.

it only stoped after I kill the engine.

in the morning wiper wont work. and in the evening after doing 20 mile trip all of sudden all dash  warning lights switched on .even all gear lights. car runs fine and i was able to change gear by guess.

reached home, switched off the car, took the key out but all dash lights were still on. eventually after few mins they were off. switched on the car everything as normal.

so took out the led lights  and now everything back to normal.

not sure why seems it was doing some kind of electric overload.

...I have xenon lights on both low beam and high beam I don't see where the problem is as they work perfect.

I'm away now(the car is home) soon as I will get back home I'll make a video...

Only on some models, the ballast will cause the ecu to read it as a fault, not on grand voyagers.

There was LED lights that make disco on @@praneetsrivastav dashboard not xenon

Yes the bumper is slightly different to accomodate the bottom bump on the later facelift versions.

After I did the headlight lens restorer job on both my 05 and 02 models there wasn't really anything in it - till I put HID's in the 05 of course!

I don't have a real clue why those LED's did the weird and wonderful trick to praneetsrivastav' s car, most odd. I presume that's why you were suggesting the extra earths to combat that?
