Gear Change Indicator Light On Dash

Question

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the gear change indicator light on the dash (1.3MAir SE).  I find it very irritating especially at night.  I can't see an option on the basic menu to switch off but wondered whether this is dealer programmable.  I understand the 1.6 diesel doesn't have it anyway.

Yeah I have the 1.6jtdm and it definitely doesn't have the change gear light, well at least operational anyway... As for de-activation I'm not sure anyone on here will know for sure, as you'd have to run through the menu's on Examiner or Fiat ecuscan to see if it's listed as an option.

I'm not sure where you're based, so can't really recommend a specialist?

The Delta's don't seem as adaptable as Alfa's for some reason. I wanted to silence the annoying arm/disarm bleep on the alarm system and get it to just flash the lights. On Alfa's its easy as you just change the country code to Belgium, but the Delta isn't having any of it even though it's the same Meta alarm system in all of the range from Fiat, Alfa, Lancia and Maser! Annoying.com!

I'd be surprised if you could still find a Chrysler dealer to be honest! Not that I'd ever step foot in one if there was lol. No i meant a Fiat/Alfa specialist as they'll have the proper diagnostic equipment to access the software. Plus either do it for nothing or charge a small fee for 10 mins connection...
