Hi I'm a Newby to this site had my 2.8crd for about 18 months and love it,except my battery goes flat if the central amp fuse is in if I take it out everything is fine except no sound from radio, am tearing wot little hair I have left out. Have been told it's the amp at the back on drivers side but have had rear panel out and can't find any amp any help will be greatly appreciated as on long journeys towing the Caravan it can get a bit boring and I miss the traffic reports.

Have you had a meter on and pulled all the other fuses out to see if any other options lose the current draw?
Mines went when I pulled the rdo ewd/rr wpr fuse. I had a 600 mA draw, and traced it to a switched feed for the radio being live all the time.

Other pointers for my issue, was the clock was displaying constantly, and the electric windows worked even without the ignition on.

I've just fixed mines by adding a switch into the switched live, that was live all the time. I isolate the stereo when I park up.

On the caravan front, how do you rate the GV as a towcar? What weight is the van and do you find it ok?
I've just bought a 1575kg max loaded van, and seem to be getting around 15mpg towing due to it dropping down the gears.
