I wouldn't let it rattle around for too long.  I've got the same issue and the loose cover has started to 'burn' through air intake rubber hose/pipe and electrical wiring.  It's even melted a couple of ridges into the top of the engine block!  Pretty tough engine cover.

Has anyone had any luck tracking down replacement rubber mounts that bigfrank was looking for?

Sorry, old topic I know, but I have an answer for the question.

After a bit of googling, I managed to find replacements for my 2011 Voyager engine cover. Take one of the originals to a Mercedes garage, they are also used on Merc vans as it’s the same engine. I took them to Chrysler in Norwich and they quoted me a new cover.....typical. Walked across the road and problem solved!

£11 or so later I had 5 new attachments for my cover, and is now solid.
